Convert http to https for free using Cloudflare

HTTPS is far more secure than HTTP, so it will come as no surprise that Google and many others support only HTTPS. It’s a good effort to make the web safer. So if you want your web to be accessible on Google and be safer you will have to convert it from HTTP to HTTPS. The simplest way to do this is by using Cloudflare. Here are the steps to convert http to https for free.

Step o1: Sign Up

The first thing you got to do is open the Cloudflare website and create an account. Simply enter your email address and password. After that Cloudflare will ask you to add your site. In the box given type your website addresses, and click Add Site. After that, it will tell you that it’s querying your DNS records. That means its gathering all the information about the websites domain, server name etc.

Step 02: Selecting Plans

There are many plans available, there are 3 paid plans used for huge websites but we have to go for free one. Click on the free plan and it will be purchased immediately. It will take 60 seconds to list all your DNS records. Verify that they are all listed correctly. After that, you will see small clouds. Click them to turn on Cloudflare.

Step 03: Change Your Nameservers

In order to route your web traffic through the Cloudflare network, you need to change your original name servers to the name servers Cloudflare will give you. Go to your domain registrar and change your domain name servers to the name server’s Cloudflare gave you. Come back to the Cloudflare website and click ‘recheck nameservers’. It will take 24 hours or less to switchover. After some time your status will switch to active.

Step 04: Select Crypto From The Row Of Icons

At the top, there will be a row of icons. To migrate your HTTP to HTTPs, click on the crypto option. This will give you the best free SSL certificate. It will take 24 hours for it to migrate if your website is new.

Step 05: SSL Certificate:

On the right side of the SSL box, you will see an options. Click on it and select full. This will make your site secure and add an SSL certificate to it, it may take around 24 hours to activate SSL on your website.

And you’re done! Your site got converted from HTTP to HTTPS, without any effort or money. Now your site is far more secure and will be accessible on more platforms. Cloudflare will also control all the traffic through its intelligent global network. Making your site faster and better!
